Memorial Day – 2016

Dix Lee On Honors those who served!

Scenes from  Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Chris Watkins

The young soldier in the red hat is Chris Watkins, the nephew of Fred and Harriette Watkins – Dix Lee On Residents. Chris plays trumpet in the US Army Concert Band, “Pershing’s Own”. Pershings Own can be seen on National TV specials playing for presidential functions. They also play at special events for the President of the United States at the White House. Chris can be seen daily as the lone soldier playing “TAPS” at the tomb of the unknown soldier in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Below: Chris Watkins seen playing for a special occasion at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Finally, we salute the thousands of soldiers from each branch that served in our Armed Forces with this Armed Forces medley from the 2015 Memorial Day TV Concert.
